WHAT YOU GET

What our podcast editing covers, in the order it happens.

Every episode goes through the same six stages. Our podcast editing services include all of them on both plans, with one account manager who knows your show.

Cleanup

Background noise, room echo, plosives, mouth clicks, and coughs come out first, so the edit starts from a clean recording.

Levels Across Speakers

You and your guest are matched in volume, and every episode is leveled to the same loudness, so listeners never reach for the volume button between voices or between weeks.

The Full Listen-Through

An editor plays the whole episode start to finish and makes the content calls: a tangent that never lands, a restart, a story you told last month, a name said two different ways.

Intro, Outro & Music

Your intro, outro, music beds, and any ad or house-ad slots are assembled into the episode. There is no extra charge for intros and outros.

Final QA Listen

Before anything ships, someone listens to the rendered file one more time. This is the check that catches a level drift or a cut that landed a word too early.

Show Notes & Publishing

Every edited episode comes back with SEO show notes and two promotional graphics, and we schedule it to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and the other directories once you approve it.

WHERE CHEAP EDITING CUTS CORNERS

Most budget editing is really processing.

A lot of low-cost editing runs your file through noise reduction and leveling, trims the silences, and sends it back. The audio sounds cleaner, but nobody has heard the episode from start to finish, so the mistakes that lose listeners stay in.

Two full listens per episode

We listen to the whole recording while we edit, then listen to the finished file again before it goes to you. An hour-long episode takes well over two hours of active listening and editing before it moves on to the next stages of our process.

That time is the reason the edit holds up on long-form, technical conversations, where a cut in the wrong place changes what a guest meant.

  • What software handles

Software handles noise reduction, leveling, and trimming long silences. These tools are good, and we use them too, but they run in minutes and never hear what anyone said.

  • What a person decides

A person decides whether a ten-minute detour should stay, where an answer really starts, and which of two takes sounds more like you. Those calls take a full listen, and they are what listeners notice.

  • What filler removal is worth

Filler removal is worth less than most hosts expect. Cutting every "um" makes a conversation sound clipped, so the standard edit removes filler only where it stacks up or stalls a good answer.

  • Why per-minute pricing works against you

A per-minute rate pays the editor for speed. The listen-through is the one step that cannot run faster than the episode, so it is the first thing that gets dropped. We charge by the month instead.

HOW IT WORKS

From raw recording to a published episode in five business days.

You upload the file and your account manager takes it from there. You only step back in to approve the finished episode.

1

You record and upload

Send the raw audio, ideally with each speaker on a separate track. Add a short note if you already know about something to cut.

2

We edit with a full listen-through

Cleanup, leveling, content edits, and your intro, outro, and music, all done by an editor who hears the whole episode.

3

We run a final QA listen

The rendered file is played through once more, then show notes and two promotional graphics are written and designed.

4

You approve and we publish

Once you sign off, the episode is scheduled to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and every major directory on your date.

WHAT IT COSTS

Editing is priced by the month, with everything else included.

Our podcast editing services come inside a production plan, so you pay one monthly price for the edit, the show notes, the graphics, and the publishing.

Bi-Weekly plan

One edited episode every other week, with show notes, two graphics, and publishing included.

$500/mo

Weekly plan

One edited episode every week, with the same deliverables and the same 5-business-day turnaround.

$875/mo

Enhanced editing add-on

Producer-discretion editing at +$100/mo on the bi-weekly plan or +$200/mo on the weekly plan. We cut filler words, long pauses, and do-overs without any timestamps from you.

+$100 or +$200/mo

Episodes over one hour add $20 each. New shows include a one-time $495 setup, and existing shows move over without it. Full plan details are on the pricing page.

EDITING QUESTIONS

What hosts ask before they outsource podcast editing.

How much do podcast editing services cost per month?

Editing is included in both HiveCast plans: $500 a month for an episode every other week and $875 a month for a weekly episode. Show notes, two promotional graphics per episode, and publishing to the directories are part of that price. New shows pay a one-time $495 setup fee, and episodes over one hour add $20 each.

Do I have to send timestamps or editing notes?

With our Enhanced Editing add-on, you do not need to send timestamps or editing notes, because your producer makes those calls for you. A short note helps if you already know about an issue or want to share an editing preference.

How long does podcast editing take after I upload my audio?

Every episode is turned around within five business days of receiving your audio, and that includes the show notes, graphics, and scheduling. On a weekly show, you can record one week and publish the next.

What if I do not like how an episode was edited?

Send your notes to our team, and we make sure the revision is completed within 24 hours. Nothing is published without your approval.

Can you fix audio from a remote interview that was recorded badly?

Cleanup and leveling improve most remote recordings a lot, but they cannot fully rebuild audio that was lost at the source, such as a dropped connection or a guest on a laptop microphone. Recording each speaker on a separate local track makes the biggest difference, and we walk new clients through that setup during onboarding.

Can I switch to HiveCast from my current podcast editor mid-season?

Yes. Existing shows move over without the $495 setup fee. We match your current intro, outro, and format, so listeners hear the same show with cleaner edits.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract for podcast editing?

No. HiveCast has no long-term contracts. Plans run month to month, you can change or cancel any month, and up to a month of unused episodes rolls forward.

Ready to hand off your podcast editing?

Book a free 20-minute discovery call. If you already publish, we will listen to a recent episode first and tell you what we would change in the edit.
