WHAT YOU GET
What podcast video editing and YouTube production covers.
The same team that edits your audio handles the podcast video editing, so there is one account manager and one schedule instead of a second vendor to brief.
Expert Podcast Video Editing
An editor watches every episode from start to finish, removes dead air and mistakes, and balances color and audio so the video looks and sounds consistent from the first minute to the last.
Custom Intro & Outro
An animated open and close built once for your show, in your brand colors, then dropped onto every episode so the series looks the same in week one and week fifty.
Motion Graphics
Lower thirds for you and your guests, pull quotes, and title cards between segments. These graphics keep viewers watching through the whole episode.
YouTube Cover Art
We create a series of YouTube thumbnail templates for your show, designed to catch a viewer’s interest and get them to click and watch each episode.
Channel Scheduling & Publishing
We write the YouTube title, description, and chapters, then schedule the episode to your channel on the same publishing schedule as your audio feed. Nothing goes live until you have approved it.
Cutdowns & Shorts
Three clips per episode, formatted as Shorts and Reels and delivered to you to post on your social channels. This is the separate Enhanced Marketing add-on, priced the same as video, and you can add it alongside video production.
Professional audio is already included in every podcast production plan. Video sits on top of it as a paid add-on, and it works hardest when the show already has a clear plan behind it.
EDITING TO PUBLISHING
Everything after the edit is included.
The video add-on covers the full process. We edit the episode, design the thumbnail, write the title, description, and chapters, and publish it to your YouTube channel on a regular schedule. You record and approve, and we handle the rest.
YouTube is a search engine
It is the second-largest one, and it reads your title, description, and chapters the way Google reads a web page. A video episode is a discovery asset, which is why we treat the packaging as part of your podcast SEO rather than as an afterthought.
One recording can also give you more than one video. With the Enhanced Marketing add-on we cut short clips from each episode for you to post on social, and the full video brings in YouTube search traffic that an audio-only feed does not reach. Apple Podcasts now supports native video as well, so the same file has somewhere else to go, which matters most for the thought leaders whose audience already watches before it listens.
-
The edit
We edit the conversation, remove dead air, and balance color and sound. This is included in the video add-on along with everything listed below.
-
The packaging
We design the thumbnail and write the title and description. These are what people see first on YouTube, and a strong thumbnail and title bring more viewers to each episode.
-
The chapters
Timestamped chapters and a written description give YouTube text to index and give viewers a way to skip to the part they came for. Both lift watch time.
-
The publishing schedule
Posting on a consistent schedule helps a channel grow its audience. We schedule every episode to your channel on the dates you approve, so new videos go out regularly without you having to manage it.
HOW IT WORKS
From a camera in your office to a published episode.
Video runs on the same schedule as your audio, with the same account manager. You record once and both versions ship.
You record on camera
Webcam, mirrorless, or a full studio. Hit record on the video and the audio, then upload the files. No editing notes required.
We edit and grade
We remove dead air, match color and audio levels, and add your intro, outro, lower thirds, and title cards.
We package it for YouTube
A thumbnail designed for this episode, a searchable title, a written description, and timestamped chapters.
We schedule and publish
The episode goes to your YouTube channel on your publishing schedule, and the audio version goes to every podcast directory.
WHAT IT COSTS
Video is an add-on, priced plainly.
It sits on top of a production plan at $500 a month bi-weekly or $875 a month weekly. Turn it on when you are ready to record on camera, and turn it off if you stop.
Video / YouTube production
Custom intro & outro, motion graphics, per-episode YouTube cover art, and scheduling to your channel.
Enhanced marketing (cutdowns & Shorts)
Three audio or video cutdowns per episode, formatted as Shorts and Reels and delivered to you for your social channels.
Episodes over one hour add $20 each. New shows include a one-time $495 setup. Full plan details are on the pricing page.
VIDEO QUESTIONS
What hosts ask before they start podcast video editing.
Do I need a video team or a videographer to start a video podcast?
No. You record on camera and send us the files. We handle the editing, the graphics, the thumbnails, the chapters, and the upload to your channel. Most of our video clients record on a webcam or a single mirrorless camera in a home office.
How much does podcast video editing cost per month?
It is a paid add-on: $100 a month on the bi-weekly plan and $200 a month on the weekly plan, on top of the $500 or $875 production subscription. Professional audio production is included in every plan, so the add-on only covers the video work.
What camera and microphone do I need to record a video podcast?
A camera that records 1080p or better, a microphone that is not the one built into the camera, and a light in front of you rather than behind you. If you record remote interviews, a platform that captures separate local tracks for each speaker makes a visible difference to the edit.
How long does podcast video editing take after I send my files?
Episodes turn around in five business days, and the video cut runs on the same production schedule as the audio version, so both are ready for the same publish date.
What happens if the first video cut is not what I wanted?
Send us your notes and we will revise the cut. Nothing is published to your YouTube channel or your podcast feed until you approve it.
Do you upload episodes to my YouTube channel for me?
Yes. We upload each episode to your YouTube channel and schedule it to publish on the date you choose. We also write the title, description, and chapters and add the thumbnail. You approve each episode before it goes live.
Can you turn each episode into YouTube Shorts and social clips?
Yes. The Enhanced Marketing add-on includes three cutdowns per episode, formatted as YouTube Shorts and Reels. We deliver the clips to you so you can post them on your social channels. It is priced the same as video production and can be added on its own or alongside it.
Is a video podcast worth it if my audience already listens on Apple or Spotify?
YouTube is the second-largest search engine, so a video episode reaches people who were not searching for a podcast at all. Apple Podcasts now supports native video as well, which means one recording covers your feed, your channel, and your clips.
Do I have to sign a contract to add video production?
No. HiveCast has no long-term contracts. You can add video, drop it, or change plans in any month.
